Submissions

The cut-off for consideration for Volume 1, Issue 1 is January 15, 2010. However, papers will be received on a rolling basis throughout the first semester and students are encouraged to submit early in order to be considered for the first issue.

Submissions are open to current undergraduate students of the University of British Columbia as well as to students who have graduated within the last two years.

Papers grounded in or making use of visual sources, as well as those dealing with art historical theory and methodology will be accepted.  All papers must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for publication:

  • Must have been written for an undergraduate course at the University of British Columbia
  • Must be graded prior to submission
  • Must be unpublished
  • Must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, titled, and be no more than 18 pages in length (excluding images, footnotes and bibliography)

Please submit all papers as e-mail attachments to ubc.ujah@gmail.com along with an abstract between 125 – 200 words.  The e-mail should also include images either in the body of the paper or as separate attachments. In the case of copyright, recognized online links to images should be provided.

Authors must also include an e-mail address which they regularly check, and must title their attached files (paper and/or images) in the following format: YourName_ARTH123.doc. Also, as a means of verifying the provenance of the paper, authors should provide us with information relating to the course for which the paper was written (number, section, professor’s name).
