UJAH seeks a talented student photographer looking to gain experience and build their professional portfolio by working for a print publication.
The journal's mission is to continue to develop its brand and push the creative possibilities of print and web publication.
Responsibilities- photograph student artists and their studios for full-page feature spreads in print- provide images for the journal's marketing materials and social media platforms- contribute to any additional photo needs of the print journal and website
QualificationsThe applicant must be an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia. Some experience with Photoshop/Lightroom required. The successful candidate will be highly flexible in order to accommodate the student artist interview times, as well as the journal's short production deadlines. Each project passes through several reviews with the journal's editorial board and the AHVA Department so the successful candidate must be willing and able to respond quickly to constructive feedback and corrections. The applicant should be interested in art publications, though a specialization in art history or visual arts is not required. Reliability and a stellar aesthetic eye are key.
